Epping Forest is a large wooded area in NE London, with plenty of fairly easy walking.

So meet at E. Croydon station at 9.20 for the 9.33 train to London Bridge. Then by 149 bus to Liverpool Street station for the Overground to Chingford. (Zone 5)

From there it is a short walk to the ancient Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge, visitor centre and cafe. Then it will be about a 7 mile circular walk via High Beech (another visitor centre, cafe, pub) back to Chingford.

It could be quite muddy in places, so boots may be best. Also bring your own lunch if you don’t want to rely on the cafes etc.
