Postal Museum Visit
Saturday 10th March 2018
Explore the surprising history of one of the greatest of British inventions, the post – the beginnings of the earliest social network. Plus ride the underground mail rail and a meal out in London.
Meet at East Croydon Station main ticket hall at 11:30 -11:40 am on Saturday morning, ready to go to London Bridge. We aim to catch a train at 11:48 or 11:51.
From London Bridge, we will walk to the Museum, stopping for a couple of things to see along the way. The distance is just about 2.5 miles, and with stops might take a couple of hours. You will probably see these things along the way:
- – something that happens in London about 1000 times a year, which you might never have seen.
- – 4000 daffodils in a square
- – an unusual view of London from a rooftop.
Bring your ticket for the Post Museum and Mail Rail ride if you have one: if you don’t, you can pay on the door for the museum, though the Mail Rail ride, which is just one part of the visit, is fully booked.
