Astonishingly, it’s nearly three years since Barry and Gill entertained us with their Traditional Treasures, an evening of revelations and songs about the oddities of English life.

Now they’re back with their new presentation, Down the Canal, the story of Britain’s canals in words, pictures and song. As they describe it:

A look into the history of Britain’s canals – the builders, the life of the working community, the decline of the working boats and the revival of the waterways in recent times, illustrated with photographs, archive pictures and songs (with which you are very welcome to join in!).
