Cherry Blossom Walk – London
Sunday 30th March @ 10:15 am to 5:00 pm
Meet at East Croydon for the 10.26 train to Victoria. Then Picadilly line via change at Green Park to Russell Square station. Short walk to Tavistock Square Gardens- see statues and tree planted to remember victims of Hiroshima.
Choice of Hare & Tortoise for low cost Japanese food or Honey + Co – Middle East bakery.
15 minute walk to Regents Park/ or can see if any buses going.
Head to Chester Rd entrance to see cherry tree lined pathway then head towards Queen Mary’s Gardens + Avenue gardens+ Japanese garden island.
Then either get tube from Baker st to Ladbroke Grove and walk to Kyoto Garden in Holland Park via Stanley Crescent Notting Hill, or the more able bodied can opt to do 1hrs walk from Regent Park to Holland Park but would need someone to take charge for this group.
Option of Curry at Khans in Westbourne Grove or pizza at Pizza Union for those wanting to linger a bit longer after. Or other branch of Hare and Tortoise in Kensington High St.
