Sat   4     Redhill Quiz Night
                COPSE not-very-far-away game at St Matthew's
                church pitting our knowledge against other teams.

Sat   4     Knockholt Walk
                An 11ish-mile circular walk via Down in Kent. Meet
                10:20 Knockholt station. From E. Croydon either
                09:19 tram to Beck. Jun. then Pettswood, or 08:55
                train via London Bridge. Return approx. 17:30.

Sat 11     Barn Dance at Godalming
                Music by Kirkophany led by our greatest squeeze
                box player. Ireen.

Sun 12     The Devil's Punch Bowl
                A walk in the South Downs led by Bob. Rendezvous
                TBA.

Fri 17  – Sun 19    Weekend in Dorset
                Litton Cheney Youth Hostel. Giving Bob a £20
                deposit by 10-1-17 secures your place. Nigel.

Sat   1     Chilterns Walk
                A walk on part of the route of the future high
                speed "HS2" railway line in the Wendover area of
                the Chilterns.  Travel up by train - about 50
                minutes from London Marylebone  - details from
                Andrew..

Sat   8     A Man for All Seasons
                Theatre: see "A Man For All Seasons"
                performed by "The Mitre Players", at the
                Mitre Theatre, in Trinity School, Shirley Park.

Thu 13  – Thu 20    Easter in Scotland
                A two centre holiday with options Staying near

Thu 13     Science Show Off
                A fun evening show at the Spread Eagle, Croydon -
                an amusing and informative session from which you
                are sure to come away having learned something fun
                and science-related. Ireen is taking bookings for
                tickets for this entertaining show, which is being
                performed upstairs in the Spread Eagle.

Sat 22     Jazz in Streatham
                Tickets £15. Music starts at 9pm but the
                Hideaway opens 7pm for food (optional)

                From Cowden, on a circular route via Hever - with
                Richard.

Wed 26     A day at the races
                Enjoy the open air and horse racing on Epsom Downs
                and maybe back a winner. With William E.

Sat 29     The Tudor Way Walk - Part 2
                Led by Keith in the fields, woodlands and Downs in
                the Weald of Kent and Sussex.

                For July to September, at The Spread Eagle pub, in
                the club room upstairs at 8pm. Bring your ideas
                for things to do from July through until late
                September.

Sun   7     The Weald Walkers Wander
                Annual team event (also open to the
                public), get together with others to form a
                team to enter. Not a race, this is a fun day out
                on foot with questions to answer with clues and
                challenges along the way. Our organisers this
                year: Olga, Barry and Keith.

Fri 26     Bootleg Blondie
                At the Boom Boom club, Sutton: William Edwards
                invites you to join an evening with the music of
                Blondie.

Sat 27  – Mon 29    Bank Holiday
                The Kent coast: - a day out to Port Lympne Animal
                Park, near Folkestone, or to nearby Hythe (for
                Romney and Dymchurch railway, and Dungeness).
                Come for a day trip, or stay in the area on
                Saturday and Sunday night until Monday to see
                these and other attractions in the area.

June

Thu   1     Committee Meeting
                Upstairs at the Spread Eagle Croydon.

Sat   3     Country Walk
                In the Dorking area - join Andrew and the group -
                note the Flying Scotsman steam train may be
                passing close by us during part of this walk.

Sun 11     Cycling from Croydon
                A one-way ride roughly following the Uckfield rail
                line to your choice of railway station. With
                Richard.

Thu 15     Meal out
                The Skylark (South End, South Croydon),
                from 7.30pm, planned by Margaret. Deals on
                curries.

Sat 17     Greenwich
                Day out to this historic town, riverside and park.

Sun 18     Open Squares Weekend
                Over 200 of London's attractive and often
                hidden squares are open to the public for this
                weekend - stroll through a few today.

Sat 24     Croydon Heritage Festival Week
                We plan to have a Club recruitment stand on this
                Saturday. Details TBC - Olga and Valerie.

Thu 29  – Mon 3    Beer in South Devon?
                Choose camping and/or hostelling weekend at
                Beer YH. Up to 4 nights. Tim.

                City exploration, travel there by car or train.
